AUSCHWITZ & BIRKENAU CAMP – We need to remember

The Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is a site of memory that should be visited at least once in one’s lifetime. Remembering the atrocities committed there is our moral duty to the millions of victims of the Shoah and other forms of Nazi terror. A visit to the remains of Auschwitz-Birkenau will not only give you an understanding of the scale of the monstrous crimes committed there but also force us to confront difficult and painful questions about humanity.

The museum is located in the former Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau and was established two years after the war. Its main tasks are the conservation of the original remains of the camp, scientific research, documentary work, and, above all, education.

Hear and Meet a Holocaust Survivor

Holocaust survivors are Jews who experienced persecution and survived the mass murder carried out by the Nazis and their collaborators between 1933 and 1945. This includes those imprisoned in concentration camps, killing centers, ghettos, and prisons, as well as those who were refugees or in hiding. Holocaust survivors also include individuals who did not self-identify as Jewish but were categorized as such by the perpetrators.

During the private meeting, Holocaust survivors will share their experiences with us. We will have the opportunity to hear their stories of wartime experiences, presented from different perspectives.

Wieliczka, Poland June 2, 2018: St. Kinga's Chapel in the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Opened in the 13th century, the mine produced table salt. Is as one of the world's oldest salt mines.
WIELICZKA SALT MINE

Explore an underground world of wonders!

A visit to a salt mine that has been in constant operation since the Middle Ages is a unique opportunity. It is one of only two such facilities in the world. The mine boasts an amazing microclimate, huge chambers and chapels carved out of rock salt, and underground lakes, all of which can be seen during our extensive tour of the mining walks.

The salt deposits mined in Wieliczka are 15 million years old! The mine is truly massive, with the oldest preserved parts dating back to the 13th century and the lowest level located over 300 meters below ground. It is no surprise that it is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

KAZIMIERZ – JEWISH DISTRICT

The Kazimierz district is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It was the center of Jewish life in Kraków for over 500 years before it was systematically destroyed during World War II. In the 1990s, Kazimierz was rediscovered, following the fall of the regime and worldwide exposure through Steven Spielberg’s lens. Today, it is Kraków’s most modern district, a bustling and bohemian neighborhood filled with historical sites, atmospheric cafes, and art galleries. Well-known for its association with Schindler and Spielberg, traces of Kazimierz’s Jewish history can still be found in the form of the district’s numerous synagogues and Jewish cemeteries.

During the tour, our licensed Krakow guide will show you some aspects of the culture, customs, and history of Kazimierz Jews.

BOWLING

Bowling is a fun and competitive activity that is inclusive for all. Unlike most sports, which require participants to be in good physical shape and to play with people of similar ages, bowling allows for a mixed group of all sizes, ages, and skill levels to participate. And with a diverse group of players, there can be some surprises – as bowling is all about technique and skill, the best bowler could be anyone.
